About

Jessica Marrone is the author of the fantastical and the macabre, bridging together the magic and pain of the supernatural existence within all of us. With a focus on magical realism and heart, Marrone is passionate about writing stories that makes the reader ponder the bigger question of “what else is out there?”

In 2024, Marrone published her debut poetry collection, Death Is A Dancer, a combination of 21 poems exploring the many facets of death from unique voices and perspectives. Also in 2024, Marrone’s work in progress, Of Oaths And Ashes, the first in a low fantasy series, was named as a semi-finalist for the Claymore Award from Killer Nashville. In 2025, Marrone published her sophomore poetry collection, Oizys, exploring heartbreak through the eye of Greek mythology.

Prior to her adventures as a poet and soon-to-be published author, Marrone spent her formative years in photojournalism and blogging about her life as a young woman with Rheumatoid Arthritis. It inspired her to begin the arduous process of chronicling her life in a memoir in 2020, tentatively titled Meet My Rheummate, which she plans to publish in 2027. The touching story chronicles the decade Marrone has battled Rheumatoid Arthritis and the life lessons she’s gathered along the way. Filled with humor and heartbreak, Meet My Rheummate is aimed to be a one-of-a-kind memoir for the chronically ill community.

Marrone plans to publish her debut novel in mid-2026, a paranormal romantic comedy set in the afterlife.

In her free time, Marrone enjoys strength training in the gym – much to her surprise. She loves reading, playing Dungeons & Dragons, going on adventures to discover new cuisine, and enjoying the beauty and pain of being alive. She resides in Georgia with her rescue dog, Lucy.
